Introduction to Daily Devotions.
 

Daily Devotions is a Christian daily devotion and Bible study sponsored by Internet Outreach Ministry, Inc. (IOM). These daily devotions have blessed millions of Christians around the world by encouraging them to read their Bible and learn more about God our Heavenly Father, our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Bible study groups can use these devotions for their Bible study materials. Non-Christians also benefit from reading these Bible-based Christian devotions so they can learn what the Bible says about God, Jesus and Christianity.

Each Morning and Evening devotion is a short Bible study with scriptures from the Holy Bible compiled according to a biblical theme, with added no commentary, thus permitting the scriptures to speak for themselves. They are often sequential from morning to morning or evening to evening. Therefore, whether your daily devotional time is in the morning or in the evening, you can benefit from them. However, if you can set aside about fifteen minutes in the morning and in the evening you will gain the most from these devotional Bible studies.

The scriptures for this devotional were originally prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872) for family devotions, and were later compiled into a book by Samuel Bagster and other family members. They were first published by the American Tract Society in 1875. These materials are considered public domain, which means that they may be distributed in any format without cost or obligation.
They were originally published in the King James version of the Bible, which we use, and have been reformatted for this site by Internet Outreach Ministry, Inc. (IOM).

For those who don't have a computer or it is not convenient to access the Internet on a regular basis, the same devotions used for this daily devotional are available in book format under such titles as Daily Light, Daily Light for Daily Living, Daily Light on the Daily Path, Daily Light from the Bible and a Living Bible version titled Living Light.

Note: If you are not comfortable with the King James version you could read these devotions in your own Bible or one of the books listed above. However, it is wise to be sure you are using a valid translation of the scriptures and not just someone's  interpretation. Some of the modern interpretations can be helpful for understanding a difficult passage or concept but should not be your only source for reading the scriptures.
