God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

God . . . hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and hath committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. *** God is love. In this was revealed the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 2 Corinthians 5:18-21
1 John 4:8-11
